IT'S SO HARD FOR ME TO GO LFW DAY #4

Thursday, 28 February 2013

My final day at London Fashion Week didn't get off to the greatest of starts. In fact it got off to a downright shocker. In my haste to get out the house that morning I neglected to check my invite for the Sophia Webster presentation and rolled up to Somerset House instead of the Topshop Show Space. Face. Palm. All in a fluster I hotfooted it back to the tube only to find that my Oyster card needed topping up and I was sans purse. And camera lens. And spare flats. #FashionWeekFail.

Thank heavens for Lereese, my knight in white cocoon-coated armour, who subbed me enough to get home and before you could pout I was back, purse in hand, pumps in bag, papping away. Hero. Following the morning's trauma I was in desperate need of some TLC and so we sat FROW at Fernandez Wells with our bestest blogger babes Kavita, Laura and Jodie and got our tea and cake on. This seems like the ideal opp to acknowledge the fab folk, especially my aforementioned Style Tribe sistas, that I spent time with during LFW. It was so refreshing to be surrounded by such genuine, grounded people with a pure passion for the industry and it reminded me why I have chosen this career. MASSIVE ta muchly to you all.

Despite not having an actual real life invite there was no way I was missing the Burberry show. None. After sniffing out some warmth, decent wifi and a glass of wine Lereese and I live streamed the show, in a bar, on my iPhone - clichèin 'ell.

With a few hours to kill before the Sophia Webster P-A-R-T-Y we headed over to Fashion Monitor's Style Lounge at the May Fair Hotel. What better way to murder three hours than with some champers and a pamper eh?! A sanctuary from the stress of shows and presentations Fashion Monitor had created a luxurious space for the media to relax, rehydrate and rejuvenate. A real port in a fashwa storm. Official beauty partner Urban Retreat at Harrods offered a range of treatments from massages to manicures, I opted for the latter and tarted up my talons with a gorge blue from Leighton Denny's Riviera Collection. After ogling goodies from indie brands such as Aubrey, Sarah Angold and 88Style.me we had a quick catch up with Jaime and Leroy before grabbing our new bud Yossi and heading for party central aka Bodo's Schloss.

I hadn't seen Ms Webster in yonks so it was a right treat to take a pew and catch up on all her AH-MAZ-ING achievements. Sophia's fun-loving footwear styles and playful pieces have quickly caught the attention of the industry and rightly so! Super skilled, super stunning and a super sweetie Sophia Webster more than merits her ongoing success and the substantial pink rock on the fourth finger of her left hand - congrats ladyface! Following a performance from Katy-B we old skool garage raved into the early hours fuelled by the most potent cocktails on the planet. LFW I bid you adieu. See You in September.

How did YOU see off LFW???
