Despite a downpour of apocalyptic proportions last Friday I donned my dancing footwear and hit Dalston for the penultimate weekend of Kopparberg's Urban Forest. Situated at the Abbot Street Car Park Kopparberg have created a Scandi sanctuary in the heart of E8 brimming with cider, scran and serious musical talent. This Friday in particular a saw Supa Dupa Fly takeover bringing the biggest and bestest in old skool R'n'B, hip hop and garage to my summer-lovin lugholes. And yes my garage guns were loaded but don't worry the safety catch was on. Brap.

In order to get crunk one must first ensure their energy supplies are topped-up so I wasted no time in filling my face. But with what?! Mama Jerk's flavoursome Caribbean street grub and Buffalo Joe's wings with blue cheese dip were tres tempting but it was Fika's traditional Scandinavian fare that was just the ticket. Well, when in Sweden. Having heard rave reviews I went 'in' on their meaty balls with skin-on mash potato and what I believe to be a berry jelly. Whatever it was twas bloody well NOM.

Sadly the Kopparberg Urban Forest is coming to an end this weekend in spectacular fashion with performances from Danish singer-songwriter of the moment  and Norwegian retro-soul sensation Bernhoft. But wait. There's more. If like me you're a big ol' fan of bearded boys then tomorrow you'll definitely be wanting to get right involved in #KOPPARBEARD. As a last hoorah The Kopparberg Florist, namely Lara Sanjar, will be on hand to transform the follicly gifted geezers of East London into floral-faced fancymen. Divine.

Have YOU found the Urban Forest yet???
